Our Ministries

An Overview

At NorthWoods Church, we strive to establish and maintain a variety of ministries for all ages. This allows us to create an environment of discipleship across the board- from the youngest of hearts to our senior citizens.

It is often hard for individuals and/or families to find a place of worship where there is a wide range of ministries that can specifically offer teaching for various age ranges. The leadership at NorthWoods Church has put together a great variety of ministries so that each person can be taught how to grow in their relationship with Christ and with one another as members of the body of Christ.

CONNECT GROUPS

Connect Groups are gatherings of 15-20 persons who meet on campus or in homes to study the Bible and to build relationships to one another.

Please note that an on-campus group is full when it reaches 20 members, and an off-campus group is full when it reaches 15 members.

CHILDREN & STUDENTS

Preschool Ministry

On Sunday mornings, our church offers Nursery and Preschool classes during both our 9:00am and 10:30am worship services for all children age 3 and under. A special preschool AWANA class is offered for children ages 2 and 3 on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm. In addition, NorthWoods offers a Mothers Day Out child care program on a two day (Tuesday/Thursday) or three day (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) basis from 9am to 3pm.

Children’s Ministry

awana-logoAWANA is our discipleship and Bible memorization ministry for children age 4 through 5th grade. The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ and train them to serve him. Our AWANA program currently meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. In addition, NorthWoods offers Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:00am on Sundays, and Children’s Worship for children age 4 through 5th grade during our 10:30am Sunday worship service.

Student Ministry

Our discipleship program for our 6th-8th grade students (Trek) currently meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm in the Student Center. Our 9th-12th grade students currently meet for our discipleship program (Journey) on Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm in the Student Center. In addition, NorthWoods offers Sunday School classes at 9:00am on Sundays for 6th-8th grade students at the 2nd floor of the worship center as well as for 9th-12th grade students in the Student Center.
WORSHIP & TECH MINISTRY

Music Worship Ministry

The Music Worship Ministry consists of musicians and vocalists who are gifted in music and, who most importantly, have a desire to bless God and the body of Christ with their gifts.

Technical Support & Worship Ministry

The Technical Support team consists of people who desire to support NorthWoods through being trained and equipped in the Audio/Visual technological equipment. The Tech Team is involved every Sunday morning and in other large and small events throughout the year.
If interested in either of the ministries, please email marvin@northwoodschurch.org.

OTHER WONDERFUL MINISTIRES

A ministry to senior adults for the purpose of encouraging an atmosphere of fellowship, love, and a sense of belonging for all seniors in our congregation.

MISSIONS

NorthWoods does everything possible to make sure that missions are a top priority for the church and that we act in obedience to his Great Commission. There are several ways in which we do this on a local level, national level, and international level. Some of them include, but are not limited to the following: partnership with Evansville Christian Life Center (ECLC), parnertship with missions in Indonesia, and church planting.
