God Gave Them Up

This sermon on Romans 1:24-32 explores what happens when humanity rejects God and chooses its own path. Paul describes a downward progression: people exchange God’s truth for lies, and in response, God “gives them over” to the consequences of their desires—first to impurity, then to dishonorable passions, and finally to a debased mind. The message emphasizes that these sins are not meant to single out certain people, but to reveal the universal human condition: all are guilty, all are broken, and all stand in need of God’s grace. Rather than fostering pride, the passage calls for humility, repentance, and recognition that true identity is found not in desires or behaviors, but in being sinners saved by Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the message points to both the seriousness of sin and the hope of transformation and forgiveness available through the gospel.
